To use the advantages of artificial intelligence responsibly, programmers and technology providers must ensure that the algorithms’ decision-making processes are traceable. Only complete transparency offers protection against manipulation, predictability – and above all, trust. If self-learning and self-judging technologies are used in business, industry and government institutions, they must be measured against the same standards as their human counterparts. This is the only way we can ensure that the blessings of artificial intelligence are more significant than its curse.
